About The Event

Humanity stands on a crossroad: will this be the best or worst century to come?
How do we protect ourselves against emerging populism, nuclear warfare, ecological disaster, and technological threats? At the same time, our contemporary society can be defined through the endless possibilities for a better producible future. We want to kickstart the best century to come by bringing the TEDx community together, encouraging participants to connect with like-minded souls and share their ideas.

TEDxHvAmsterdam is an independently organized TEDx event at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. TEDx stands for ideas worth spreading, new ideas that can change and improve the course of our future. In line with TEDx’s mission, the University of Applied Sciences stands for creating tomorrow, actively encouraging its students to find creative solutions for the challenges at hand. This is why we want to bring TEDx to our community.

Get inspired by the TEDxHvAmsterdam speakers. Individuals who refuse to accept the status quo. Individuals who seize opportunities to create a better tomorrow. Individuals who contribute to the producible future.

The Producible Future

At TEDxHvAmsterdam you have the chance to hear inspiring speakers coming from various fields who have come up with ideas that produce a better future, whether this be in technology, design, sustainability or otherwise. At the TEDxHvAmsterdam Experience, you can emerge yourself in ideas the University of Applied Sciences has to offer. Also, you will be able to network with fellow participants to discuss your idea worth spreading.


TEDxHvAmsterdam Wildcard event

The selection board is busy selecting HvA’s changemakers and rebels with a cause to speak at TEDxHvAmsterdam. But we still have one spot left and that could be you!

We know that the community is full of amazing ideas that can inspire others. We are therefore hosting the TEDxHvAmsterdam Wildcard event, in which you can pitch your idea worth spreading to the selection board.

So are you a student or a young professional and do you have an idea worth sharing? Send in your proposal, get invited to pitch your idea and get the chance to be one of the speakers during TEDxHvAmsterdam!

The event will take place on the 5th of September between 16:00 and 18:00 at the Kohnstammhuis, Amsterdam.
